Finance Watchdog to Increase Private Credit, Stablecoin Scrutiny

The global financial stability watchdog have vowed to double down on efforts to better assess the risk from private credit and stablecoins in 2026 and explore ways to modernize financial regulation in general.

The Financial Stability Board, which convenes central bank governors, finance ministries and regulators from 24 of the world’s biggest economies, highlighted its areas of focus for next year in a new work program published Wednesday.
